In early January 1951, a tragic sequence of events unfolded involving the Mosser family, who were traveling from their home in Atwood, Illinois, for a vacation in New Mexico. The family included the father, Carl, the mother, Thelma, and their three children, among them 7-year-old male Ronald Dean Mosser.
