On Sunday, February 7, 2021, 30-year-old Ladarius Bloxom, an African American male from Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot outside the Valley Brook Apartments located in the 2900 block of Gallant Drive in the Apple Valley neighborhood. Responding officers from the Birmingham Police Department's East Precinct found Bloxom deceased at the scene.
