In the west Birmingham neighborhood of Bush Hills, a Sunday afternoon was shattered by gunfire that claimed the life of 25-year-old Lamorn Wilkerson-Hubbard. On March 29, 2020, police responded to a report of a person shot in the 100 block of Second Street North shortly after 1 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Wilkerson-Hubbard inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead at the scene.
The initial investigation suggested that an argument preceded the fatal shooting. Witnesses reported seeing a small, dark-colored SUV leaving the area shortly after the sound of gunfire echoed through the street.
