On May 23, 2022, at approximately 7:05 PM, Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of 60th Street Ensley. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Alpatrick McKinstry lying unresponsive in the front yard of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
