On July 11, 2022, at approximately 7:39 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Heflin Road and Pratt Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Alonzo Colvin unresponsive in the driver's seat of a vehicle, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
