On March 10, 2020, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire near 216 71st Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Marcus Wilson behind a residence at 130 71st Street North, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported Wilson to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
