In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in June 2017, the body of 19-year-old Ullesis Keanu was discovered lying in a street in Birmingham, Alabama. A passerby spotted Keanu on the pavement at the intersection of B.Y. Williams Sr. Drive and Court R and immediately alerted the authorities. When Birmingham police and fire and rescue crews arrived on the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m. on June 14, they found the young man unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
