Do you know who murdered De'Ijiora?
In the C.W. Brown public housing community in Birmingham, Alabama, a life was tragically cut short on the evening of Wednesday, February 8, 2017. DeIjiora Brown, a 31-year-old Black male, was found shot and subsequently died from his injuries. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in a common area of the housing community located on 30th Avenue North.
Responding to a call of a person down, Birmingham police and fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene to find Brown suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The initial investigation by the Birmingham Police Department suggested that an argument had taken place in the breezeway of one of the apartment buildings shortly before the shooting. Following the altercation, the suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot.
In the days that followed, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office officially identified Brown and confirmed the cause of death as a homicide. Authorities appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the person or persons responsible for his death. Despite the ongoing investigation and pleas for witnesses to come forward, no arrests have been made in the case. The death of DeIjiora Brown remains an unsolved homicide, leaving his family and community searching for answers and justice.
