On March 12, 2020, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers from the East Precinct responded to a report of a person shot at 7720 1st Avenue South. Upon arrival, they discovered 29-year-old Jerrell Lee Little lying on the ground, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported him to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, Mr. Little succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
