Do you know who murdered 19 year old Stephon Walton? In the summer of 2000, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Chesapeake, Virginia. On the night of July 23rd, 19-year-old Stephon Walton found himself at a local nightclub called City Lights, located at Bainbridge Boulevard and Portlock Road. It was there that the violence that would ultimately end his life is believed to have occurred. Suffering from a gunshot wound, Walton was brought to a local hospital by a group of individuals he was with that evening.
Conscious and able to
ask for help, Walton was initially taken to one hospital before being transferred to another. For weeks, he lingered, holding on to life as his family and friends hoped for his recovery. Sadly, in September of that year, Stephon Walton succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The initial investigation into his shooting was met with challenges, and despite the efforts of law enforcement, the case grew cold over the years.
To this day, the death of Stephon Walton remains an unsolved homicide. No arrests have ever been made in connection with his shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Chesapeake Police Department continues to seek information from the public, offering a reward for any tips that could lead to an arrest and finally bring closure to the family and friends of a young man whose life was taken far too soon.
