Gregory Johnson, a 50-year-old African American male, died on April 16, 2020, in Birmingham, Alabama, following an altercation with a private security guard at Marino's Market in the Ensley neighborhood. The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. when West Precinct officers responded to reports of a disorderly person at the market located at 2415 Avenue E.
