On February 28, 2020, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Birmingham police responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the 4300 block of 12th Court North in the Kingston neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 28-year-old Jerrell Andre Moultrie unresponsive inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
