On March 9, 2020, 20-year-old Octavia Nicole Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama, tragically lost her life in a fatal car accident near Fairfield. The incident occurred on Interstate 59 South, close to mile marker 119, where two vehicles were reportedly engaged in a high-speed race.
