On December 2, 2024, at approximately 4:50 p.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a person shot in the 400 block of Forrest Drive in Fairfield, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Erykah Nameke Tate lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
