The events of that day began to unfold when her 32-year-old boyfriend, Ace Antonio Pierre Belcher, placed a call to the local police. He initially reported that he and Wilemon had been involved in an argument that escalated physically, resulting in her death. When officers first arrived at the residence, Belcher claimed to have discovered Wilemon lifeless on the floor.
However, the circumstances at the scene struck the responding officers as unusual, prompting them to call in investigators from the Etowah County Sheriff's Office for a more thorough examination.
