In the early morning hours of Christmas Eve in Albertville, Alabama, a domestic argument tragically escalated, leaving a 45-year-old woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Amanda Jean Hood. The incident unfolded at the Suntrace Apartments, where Hood resided.
Following the shooting, a man named Tevin Hampton, who was 28 years old at the time, drove to a local Mapco gas station and reported the shooting to the police.
When officers arrived at the gas station, Hampton provided them with the address of the apartment where Hood's body was discovered. Investigators determined that Hampton and Hood had been in a relationship for approximately two years.
Hampton was taken into custody at the scene without incident and was transported to the Albertville Police Department for questioning. He was subsequently arrested and charged with the murder of Amanda Jean Hood. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
