On August 10, 2019, at approximately 10:11 p.m., 49-year-old Jason Christopher Hooper was fatally struck by a vehicle in the 2100 block of Green Springs Highway in Birmingham, Alabama. First responders arrived to find Hooper on the sidewalk; he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
