Romello Pritchard, a 21-year-old Black man from Birmingham, Alabama, was shot to death in the early morning hours of March 6, 2016, in the 2300 block of 7th Place Northwest, in the Sun Valley area near Jefferson State Community College. According to Birmingham police, officers from the East Precinct were dispatched around 5:15 a.m. on a person-shot call and arrived to find him on the ground with a gunshot wound.
