In the quiet town of Goodwater, Alabama, the life of 29-year-old Andre Lamonde Davis was cut short on the evening of Sunday, February 3, 2019. Initial reports suggested a traffic accident, but upon arrival, deputies from the Coosa County Sheriff's Office discovered a more grim reality: Davis, a Black male from Kellyton, had been fatally shot. The county coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, turning a supposed accident investigation into a homicide case.
