In the early hours of September 3, 2020, Laura Taylor, a 30-year-old White/Caucasian woman from Yukon, Oklahoma, was shot and killed during a robbery at the 7-Eleven where she was working as a clerk. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. at the convenience store located at 1601 S Mustang Road in Oklahoma City, near Yukon.
According to police investigators, a man entered the store and committed a robbery.
Laura Taylor followed the suspect out of the store into the parking lot, where she was fatally shot. When officers arrived at the scene, they found her lying in the parking lot, and she was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, the Oklahoma City police began an investigation which led to the swift arrest of a suspect the next day. George Loren Way, 31, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of Laura Taylor. He was booked at the Canadian County jail on complaints of murder and robbery with a firearm. Investigators believe that Taylor was killed during the robbery of the store.
