Thomas Chandler, an 87-year-old man from Goodwater, Alabama, was found dead on December 4, 2017, in what authorities later determined to be a homicide. Chandler's body was discovered inside his home after family members became concerned when they had not heard from him in several days. Upon conducting a welfare check, deputies from the Clay County Sheriff's Office arrived at Chandler’s residence and found him deceased.
