On January 14, 2023, 31-year-old Robin Durell Braswell was fatally shot in Goodwater, Alabama. Around 2:40 a.m., the Goodwater Police Department requested assistance from the Coosa County Sheriff's Office regarding a shooting near Coosa County Road 52. Upon arrival, officers found Braswell suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
