A quiet Saturday evening in Coosa County, Alabama, turned tragic on June 5, 2021, ending the life of 43-year-old Marcaus Odem of Sylacauga. Odem was walking along U.S. Highway 280 near Goodwater when he was struck by a vehicle in a fatal hit-and-run incident. The male driver and the vehicle remain unidentified.

The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. near mile marker 52, approximately four miles northwest of Goodwater. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Odem was in the road ...
