On October 15, 2023, at approximately 2:28 a.m., Birmingham police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1800 block of Fulton Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Jacquic Little and 28-year-old Damon Thomas inside a residence, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced both victims deceased at the scene. The incident marked Birmingham's 96th and 97th homicide investigations of 2023.
