On April 22, 2016, 42-year-old Melinda LaShawn Searight was found unresponsive on her bedroom floor in Irondale, Alabama. Her three daughters were present in the home at the time. Initially, authorities and family members believed she had been beaten to death. However, further investigation revealed that Searight had been fatally shot in the head.
