In the summer of what should have been a peaceful break from her studies, 15-year-old Cornelia Rose Lathan's life was tragically cut short. On June 19, 2024, the female teenager was fatally shot inside her family's apartment at the Park Place Apartments in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident also left her 5-year-old brother, Roman, with a gunshot wound to his leg.
