The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place on Monday, October 16, 2023.
At approximately 6:55 p.m., officers from the West Precinct were dispatched to the 1500 Block of Alemeda Avenue in response to a reported shooting. They received updates indicating that ShotSpotter had detected multiple gunshots fired in the 1100 Block of 15th Street Southwest.
