On September 18, 2011, 27-year-old Marquez Deshone Jones was shot and killed in Denver, Colorado. The incident occurred after a disturbance near the Rockstar Lounge, which escalated as Jones and his friends moved towards the area of East 8th Avenue and Lincoln Street. During the altercation, an unidentified suspect opened fire, fatally shooting Jones. He was found by responding officers and later pronounced dead from his injuries.
