In the early hours of a summer morning in Denver, Colorado, the sounds of a house party were tragically silenced by gunfire. On June 12, 2022, Abraham Garcia, a 21-year-old Hispanic man, was fatally shot at a gathering in the Virginia Village neighborhood. The incident, which unfolded in the 4600 block of East Colorado Avenue, was a chaotic and violent event that left another young man, 18-year-old Prudencio Ortiz-Arellanez, dead and four others wounded.
