On June 20, 2009, James Wilson, a 39-year-old man from Memphis, Tennessee, was found dead in what remains an unsolved homicide. Wilson was discovered shot to death, and his case quickly became a part of the backlog of unsolved violent crimes that the Memphis Police Department has been struggling to solve. Despite early investigative efforts, the leads soon ran cold, and the case was transferred to the Cold Case Unit of the Memphis Police Department.
