In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 20, 2009, a life was tragically cut short on the streets of north Memphis. James G. Wilson, a 39-year-old Black/African American man, found himself in a fatal altercation that would leave him mortally wounded. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. near the intersection of Life Avenue and Thomas Street, in an area just north of the old Firestone plant.
