In Memphis, Tennessee, on the Fourth of July in 2015, Quincy Jett, a 35-year-old Black male, was shot and killed. He was inside his vehicle at the Forrest Pine Apartments, located in the 1500 block of Stribling Road in East Memphis, when the fatal incident occurred. Jett sustained 13 gunshot wounds in the attack. The violence of the act sent ripples through the community, prompting a thorough investigation by law enforcement.
