A young man is shot while walking home from a World Series watch party
John Phillips, a 19-year-old from North Kingstown, Rhode Island, was last seen alive on the evening of October 26, 1986. That night, he attended a World Series party at a friend's house to watch the Boston Red Sox play the New York Mets. Phillips left the gathering around 10:30 PM, choosing to walk home, but he never made it. His body was discovered early the next morning, on October 27, in the parking lot of Golf World, a location less than a mile from where he had been last seen.
