A young man is shot while walking home from a World Series watch party In the autumn of 1986, the life of a 19-year-old Caucasian male named John Phillips was cut tragically short in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. On the night of October 26th, he was at a house party with friends, watching the tense seventh game of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Mets. Sometime around 10:30 p.m., Phillips decided to leave the gathering, setting out on foot for the nearly three-mile walk back to his apartment in East Greenwich. He never made it home.
