On June 26, 2020, 30-year-old Derek R. Desjardin was found deceased in his first-floor apartment on Cass Avenue in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. A family member discovered his body around 8:15 a.m. after he failed to report to his landscaping job. Authorities determined that Desjardin had died from multiple gunshot wounds, classifying the incident as a homicide.
