In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the life of Percy E. Standifer Jr., a 33-year-old man, was irrevocably altered. Shortly after midnight on September 2, 2020, the sound of gunshots pierced the quiet of Logee Street. When police officers arrived, they discovered Standifer lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he underwent emergency surgery in a valiant effort to save his life.
