In the spring of 2008, a weekend of violence in Philadelphia claimed the life of 20-year-old Terron Epps, a resident of Upper Darby. On the evening of Saturday, April 19th, at approximately 6:11 p.m., the young Black man was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the intersection of 57th Street and Haverford Avenue in West Philadelphia. The city's streets, that day, were unfortunately no stranger to such violence, as his death was one of several homicides that weekend.
