In the early hours of Sunday, April 5, 2026, a man, Courtney Mullins, 42, was fatally shot in the parking lot of a large gathering in Needham, Arkansas. The event, advertised as the “Pressure & Friends 6th Annual Bash,” was being held at 6888 Highway 18 East, a location known to law enforcement due to previous calls. Craighead County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene around 1:30 a.m. following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, they discovered Mullins with multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were called as deputies began life-saving measures. Mullins, who was believed to be from Mississippi County, was transported to NEA Baptist hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation into the shooting led authorities to identify a suspect.
Demetrie Allen, 33, of West Memphis, was identified as the suspected shooter, and an arrest warrant was issued. On Monday, April 6, 2026, Allen was taken into custody following a traffic stop on Interstate 55 near the Mississippi-Crittenden County line. An Arkansas State Police Trooper recognized Allen's vehicle from a "Be On the Lookout" alert. Allen was arrested without incident and transported to the Craighead County Detention Center, where he is being held on a charge of first-degree murder. Investigators are continuing to work to determine the motive for the shooting.
