In the small city of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, a young man's life was cut short on May 17, 2018, following a dispute that turned deadly. Dominique Otey, a 22-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in an incident that unfolded around 3:30 p.m. on Elm Street. An argument had escalated into a physical altercation, during which one of the individuals involved produced a firearm and shot Otey. He was rushed to Helena Regional Medical Center, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
