In the late hours of a Saturday in Helena, Arkansas, the sound of gunfire shattered the night on South Sam Street. It was March 18, 2017, when police received a 911 call shortly after 10:20 p.m. reporting a shooting in the 400 block of the street. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as Stanley Scott, a 58-year-old male resident of the city.
He was rushed to Helena Regional Hospital for medical attention, but tragically, he was pronounced dead. The initial investigation into the fatal shooting led authorities to detain one man for questioning. However, he was later released, and no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.
