In the pre-dawn hours of a Tuesday in Philadelphia, the city's usual rhythm was tragically disrupted for 55-year-old Barry Parks. On August 28, 2018, at approximately 2:30 a.m., he stood waiting for a bus in the Hunting Park neighborhood, a routine part of his commute to his job at a recycling plant. It was a journey he would not complete. As the bus approached, an armed man confronted him in what authorities believe was an attempted robbery.
