In the early hours of May 5, 2008, violence erupted on the 300 block of North 62nd Street in West Philadelphia, claiming the lives of two teenagers. Jahlil Garrett, a 19-year-old African-American male, was found shot in the head and buttocks. Alongside him was 19-year-old Jovan Bradley-Dixo, who had been shot twice in the chest.
