In the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, the life of I. Dean Fulton, a 43-year-old man, came to a violent end. On a Tuesday night, he was ambushed while inside his SUV. The attack was sudden and brutal, with investigators stating that more than 40 shots were fired from an AK-47 style rifle. Fulton was pulling into his garage on Dupont Street when the gunman, who had been lying in wait across the street, opened fire. He was shot repeatedly and pronounced dead at the scene.
Sources revealed that Fulton was no stranger to law enforcement and was reportedly a major drug dealer who had been under investigation by the FBI. At the time of his death, he was found with numerous cell phones. This violent end was not his first brush with a murder investigation. A decade prior, in June 2010, Fulton was charged with the murder of Michael Toll.
Fulton was convicted of third-degree murder in the 2010 shooting of Toll and was sentenced to fifteen to thirty years in prison. However, his conviction was later overturned. Despite this legal victory, his past seemed to follow him. His own murder remains unsolved, and at the time of the reports, no arrests had been made in connection with his death, leaving the community on edge and the motive for his execution-style killing a matter of speculation.
