Angelo Bruno, also known as "The Gentle Don," was a Sicilian-American mobster who led the Philadelphia crime family for two decades until his assassination on March 21, 1980, at the age of 69. Born Angelo Annaloro on May 21, 1910, in Villalba, Sicily, Bruno emigrated to the United States as a child and settled in South Philadelphia.
