In the winter of 2018, the life of 28-year-old Matthew Caleb Suttee was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Missouri. A white male, Suttee was fatally shot on the afternoon of Monday, January 22, 2018. The incident occurred near the intersection of Gregory Boulevard and Indiana Avenue, where police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Suttee inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound and showing no signs of life. He was officially pronounced dead a short time later.
Known to his loved ones as Caleb, he was born on December 5, 1989, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Described as a man with an entrepreneurial spirit, Caleb was a dedicated father to his son, Isaiah. He had a passion for music and was known for his skill in sales, consistently breaking records and earning bonuses in his work. His family remembered him as a faithful friend who always strove to do his best for those he cared about.
The investigation into Suttee's death led authorities to a person of interest who was questioned and subsequently released. Later, a suspect was identified as Marcus T. Franklin. The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office filed serious charges against Franklin, including second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. Court documents allege that Franklin knowingly shot a firearm at the motor vehicle occupied by Suttee, causing his death.
