On a late Tuesday evening in March 2018, the life of 39-year-old Jeffery Williams, a White male, was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence in Kansas City, Missouri. The night of March 6th was shattered by the sound of gunfire in the 1600 block of East 80th Street. When the echoes of the shots faded, Williams lay fatally wounded, the victim of a drive-by shooting.
Responding to a call shortly after 11 p.m., Kansas City police officers arrived at a residence to find a grim scene. Williams had sustained gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The violence of that night also touched the life of a juvenile, who was wounded in the attack but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
