On September 15, 2019, a violent incident disrupted a Sunday afternoon gathering in Kansas City, Missouri. Inside an upstairs apartment located on the 4200 block of Tracy Avenue, a group of people had assembled to watch a Kansas City Chiefs game. Among the attendees was Robert D. Williams, a 46-year-old Black male, who was enjoying the event with others in the residence. The atmosphere changed abruptly when another guest, 29-year-old Sharron R. Garner, left the apartment for a brief period.
