Patrolman Stevie L. Thompson, a 29-year-old officer from the Crossville Police Department in Alabama, was tragically killed in the line of duty on September 13, 1986. The incident occurred when Thompson stopped a driver for a DUI violation on Justice Street at around 7:00 pm.
During the stop, Thompson was shot by the driver he had pulled over. This violent act resulted in Thompson's immediate death, a devastating loss for his family, colleagues, and the community.
