On November 14, 2017, at approximately 1:53 a.m., Philadelphia police officers responded to a report of a shooting on the unit block of East Garfield Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, they discovered 43-year-old Black male Tavio Scott lying unresponsive in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel transported Mr. Scott to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
