On the morning of October 7, 2014, a tragic event unfolded on the 2100 block of Taney Terrace in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that cut short the life of 20-year-old Jihad Carter. A Black male, Carter was found lying in the street at approximately 9:11 a.m. by responding Philadelphia Police officers. He had sustained a serious gunshot wound.
In a swift effort to save his life, the officers transported him in their patrol vehicle to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Despite their rapid response and the medical attention he received, Jihad Carter succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that same morning. He had been a resident of South Newkirk Street in Philadelphia.
As of today, the investigation into the murder of Jihad Carter remains ongoing. Law enforcement officials have not publicly identified any suspects in connection with the shooting.
