In the late summer of 2015, a family was irrevocably broken by an act of violence on a Philadelphia street. On the evening of Sunday, August 23rd, shots rang out on the 3300 block of H Street, a residential block in the city. Responding to the call at approximately 9:00 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers discovered 22-year-old Emmanuel Cintron suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The young man, who resided on the very block where he was gunned down, was rushed by the officers to
Temple University Hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Emmanuel Cintron succumbed to his injuries the following morning, on Monday, August 24, 2015. His death was ruled a homicide, leaving his loved ones to grapple with a future stolen from them.
In the aftermath of his death, Emmanuel was remembered by his family as the beloved baby of the house, with three sisters and a brother who cherished him. Described as kind and friendly, he was a beacon of light in their lives, adored by his nieces and nephews who would eagerly await his return home. His family shared that he had been working and had made positive changes in his life, making his sudden and violent death all the more tragic.
As of now, the case of Emmanuel Cintron's murder remains unsolved. No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public, hoping that even the smallest detail might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation and finally bring a measure of justice to a family still mourning the profound loss of their son and brother.
