Marcos Malave, a 32-year-old Philadelphia resident, was fatally shot on September 16, 2016, on the 3400 block of North 6th Street in Philadelphia. Around 11:52 p.m., police officers responded to reports of gunfire and found Marcos suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
The incident remains unsolved, and police are still looking for any leads that could help identify those responsible for his death.
Marcos was known for his kind and helpful nature. He left behind a son and a daughter, along with his parents, sister, and numerous friends and family members who dearly miss him. According to his family, Marcos had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was close to his family, particularly his sister Annie, with whom he shared a tight bond. They grew up together like twins, and their bond remained strong throughout their lives.
Marcos was a graduate of Thomas Alva Edison High School and had previously worked at the Tastykake factory until it closed in 2010. At the time of his death, he was helping a friend renovate houses. His family members remember him fondly for his jovial personality, his love for his children, and his dedication to those around him. Despite ongoing efforts, no arrests have been made in the case, and a reward of up to $20,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with his death.
The suspect involved in the shooting was described as a Black male, approximately 26 years old, standing around 5'3" to 5'4", and weighing about 165 pounds. He fled the scene in a minivan along with another individual described as a Hispanic male with a light complexion and a beard. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing justice for Marcos and his family.
